I present you… The New America:
Now, after you had your laugh, read on, because, leaving aside the funny part, you should see the “not-so-funny” part of it.
You probably know that one of the symbols of America is the Statue of Liberty. It represents the basic ideas upon which America has been established: liberty, democracy, equality, “blind” justice, etc.
However, you might know that one of the biggest problems America faces nowadays is, among (a lot) others, obesity. This arises mainly from unhealthy eating habits: junk food, fast food, etc. - and generally a disordered life.
Anyway, you should note that the obesity problem is not present only in America. Junk food restaurants chains spread like a cancer throughout the world. While lots of people see it as a good alternative to traditional food, usually because they don’t have time any more to cook, you should know that McDonalds, KFC, BurgerKing and so on ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH!
I won’t be a hypocrite and I’ll admit that I eat at KFC from time to time. But it is important that this does not become a habit, or you will end up bad.
Note that gaining weight is one of the least damaging effects. An entire “palette” of health problems come with junk food: heart diseases, increased cholesterol level, increased chance of heart attack etc.
Therefore, maybe it is time to think a bit about your health and see The World’s Healthiest Foods
PS: the last link has no advertising purposes, it is not owned by me, nor by any friend of mine. It is just a good resource to help you start eating healthy/ier.
I wrote this post after I stumbled upon the image above.
Note that the post is under the “Have fun” category…
While the funny side of it is obvious, the image inspired me to reflect a bit on the deeper meaning of it - thus, the “rambling” that followed the image.
Either way, enjoy and share your thoughts on this in the comments.

Hey I just stumbled upon your site. Very true junk food is terrible for you, but I have to say I do enjoy it from time to time as well.
Have you ever seen the documentary “Super Size Me”? I haven’t eaten at McDonalds since! I try to eat healthy foods often and with the new year right around the corner, it’s time to once again commit to a healthy lifestyle ALL the time. Merry Christmas!
Yep I’ve seen that documentary. That dude risked a lot, eating only junk food all day long. Adopting a healthier eating habit is just getting used to, simply adapt to something new - but that’s hard for lots of us :).PS: Merry Christmas to you, too!
